Choose Your Own Adventure Run
SISU ENDURANCE presents one of the most unique events on the planet. You have 24-Hour to explore and run any distance you like, with the opportunity to achieve one of the toughest 100-Mile races anywhere! We start at a private Boy Scout Camp (Camp Sheppard) located in the spectacular Cascade Mountains, just minutes from Mount Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain ski area. Cliffs tower overhead, pristine falls can be found nearby, and giant elk freely roam the meadows.
You are encouraged to come Friday and set up your base camp. Bring the entire family, crew, or friends – all extra support team are free and encouraged! Kids love camping for the weekend at the Boy Scout Camp!
Saturday morning the race starts.
Everyone races together, the 100-Mile runners will start at midnight and the 24-Hour Individual and 24-Hour Team runners will join them at 8am the next day. The race ends Sunday, 24-Hours after it begins for the team and individual runners. For the 100-Mile runners, there is a 32-Hour cutoff.
This race is self-supported. You will set up your own base camp. We encourage everyone to be festive and creative with your camp site. There are multiple out and back trails that leave from base camp. The longest distance is 18.5 miles, and the shortest is approximately 3 miles. Before you head out on course you are required to check in at timing table at basecamp. You will choose which trail you want to take, from there you'll head out to the checkpoint at the end of the trail, there, you will find a stamp for your quest log. If you're in the top ten you'll also grab a ping pong ball, if you're in the 11-20 position you'll take a crystal, and if you're anything after you'll just grab your stamp and head back to HQ. It's imperative that you always check in with the staff at HQ when you first arrive back at camp for your safety and our knowledge of where you are (at camp vs. on course).
The way it work: Each route has a set point value based on distance and elevation. You'll earn more points for being among the first to complete a trail. It's a tiered system, that's where the ping pong balls and crystals come into play. Your points are earned by your route choices and any extra challenges you complete.
In addition to earning the tiered points based on trail completion and the points you can earn from the bonus challenge that you can complete once per route, there are also additional points earned for those who complete a 3 ore more unique trail routes, completing all earning the highest of bonus points.
While it may seem like it based on the distances, you are never too far from base camp and your gear/fuel/food. There are plenty of water sources on the trails to collect water that you can purify and drink, make sure you have an efficient method for purifying your water, especially if we have a hot weekend.
There will be a food truck at camp as well as an espresso cart! The mood is festive with lights, movies, crafts, and onesies.
Choose Your Race Style
